LBE Privacy Guard is a fantastic security application for Android based mobiles/tablets. It works like a firewall between the applications and the Android operating system.
You can easily view what applications have access to your system. It will also allow you to block applications from using operations that can be a serious privacy issue. Also it helps prevent Virus/Trojans from gaining access to sensitive areas of the phones operations.
The application will allow you to block apps from:
- Internet Access
- SMS Access
- Contact Access
- Call Logs Access
- Phone Location
- Phone ID (IMEI Number)
It will also work as a bandwidth monitor showing you how much data has been used and even what application is sending and receiving bytes. It also has excellent logging capabilities so you can see what applications are requesting access to the above list and how many times they have tried since LBE was installed.

Conclusion
Having run this application and reviewed it. I am left feeling concerned about how much access apps actually get on Android devices. I had games like Angry Birds, Brothers in Arms, Lets Golf 2 and 3 to name a few all having access to my phones ID, SMS inbox, Contact Lists and also having the ability to send out SMS text messages. Many more applications had more privileges then it needed.
I would recommend having LBE Privacy Guard installed as standard if you are at all worried about your privacy.
