
HTC Flyer is a portable 7-inch tablet with a digital pen that can do more for you than you can imagine. From creating masterpieces with a stroke of a paintbrush, to taking multimedia notes or even signing digital documents, HTC Flyer puts you in control of any situation. With streaming movies at a touch of your finger, HTC Flyer turns any moment into something special.
This Guide is designed for complete noobs who are running Honeycomb and want to roll back to Gingerbread. Ideal if you are wanting to s-off - root and flash a custom Rom onto your device.
Step 1 - Find out your what Rom version your HTC Flyer is using.Here is how to do this.
You should something similar to the following:
D:\Users\USERNAME\Desktop\abd\abd>fastboot getvar cidYou now need to find out what Gingerbread Stock Rom you will need to install back onto your HTC Flyer. Please use this guide here.
Once you have found the correct Stock firmware version please download it.
Contact me if you have any problems obtaining the above firmware I have most stored.
Step 2 - Downgrade your Flyer to Gingerbread.Required downloads
Procedure
At this point your device will reboot to recovery
Your device will reboot, do not worry if it does not boot fully, it doesn't matter for this procedure, and it is a side effect of this root exploit.
Note that the number in RED is the version number retrieved in step 1.
Once the Rom installs *(can take up to 10 minutes). You will now be downgraded to Gingerbread.

These are the devices and HBOOT versions supported
HTC View (express) 1.09.0000 and 1.13.0000
HTC Flyer (flyer) 1.10.0000 and 1.11.0003
If you don't have one of these versions make sure you have downgraded to Gingerbread folow our guide by clicking the tab . Then see ***bottom of this section. because the current application will not S-OFF your device as is PERIOD.
Step 1: Read the documentationStep 2 (Windows): Uninstall HTC Sync and any other sync sotware ( eg Androsync ) that you have been using.
Step 3 (Windows) : Install these fastboot drivers
Step 4: Turn USB debugging ON
Note: The device should be fully booted to android now, do not go to the bootloader or fastboot.
Step 5: Connect the device via USB if not already done.
Step 6: Got to the revolutionary website and select the download for your platform (Windows or Linux ) do not enter anything in the form and do not close the page.
Step 7: Run the application to get your serial number it will be something like HTCXXXXXX
Step 8: Go back to the webpage and enter the details required on the form to get your KEY.
IMPORTANT: If you have a flyer, device is Flyer, if you have a View it is Express
Step 9: Copy and Paste the beta key back to the application and press return. If you don't know how to paste see step 6 here
Step 10: Follow the on screen instructions.
If you see this message:
SUCCESS - Life gave us lemons, we didn't make lemonade!
then S-OFF has been successful, even if CWM then fails.

Step 2:Obtain clockworkmod recovery:

Step 3:Boot the flyer into fastboot mode.
How to start Fastboot USB mode:
Open up a comand prompt in windows. Navigate to where you have extracted the android-win-tools.zip.
You use the cd command to jump to a directory. Example: cd
Users\USERNAME\Downloads\HTC FLYER\abd\
Step 5:Run this command. fastboot flash recovery cwm-4.0.1.4-flyer
g
Replace the version number if there is a later one to match your downloaded CWM.img.
You should now have Clockworkmod installed on your device. Here is how to check and boot into CWM recovery.
